A galley style was agreed upon early in the brief because it provides maximum practicality in terms of access to storage. The owners also selected soft-closing drawers, a separate pull-out bin, two pantries, and a four-metre island bench, complete with a Caesarstone benchtop, supported by art deco-style pilasters.
This architecturally designed kitchen was a collaboration between Carpentech and the home builder, Eco-Logical Building, to create a compact kitchen that offers easy access to the most-used features.
As the focus, the solid American Oak island benchtop with a lime wash effect is understated yet extremely effective in softening the harsh surrounding materials. Along the wall where the ‘working’ part of the kitchen is located, the HanStone benchtop and satin finish cabinetry in Dulux Whisper White offers a contemporary, sleek finish to the area.
A flawless, clean and light style was achieved through the use of high-gloss lacquered cabinetry with flat doors and drawers, topped with engineered stone in Silver Star. A neutral glass splashback lines the rear wall behind the cooktop and is repeated along the front side of the island bench, effortlessly tying the kitchen together.
